Department Specific Graduate Awards
The values and criteria of the following scholarships may change. Consult the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies website for the most current information. Unless otherwise noted, there is no application by the student. There are two exceptions. One is the travel awards, for which an annual departmental competition is held in the Winter term. Travel awards are granted on the basis of merit of the application and relevance to the student's research program; other awards are decided on the basis of appropriate area of research and academic merit. Some scholarships take financial need into consideration. The second is the Eleanor Luxton Historical Foundation Fellowship for graduate students engaged in research in western Canadian history. Eligible students can apply for this award following a call for submissions issued by the award committee each spring.
